Project Overview
The church tower’s carved limestone mullions, transoms, arch, and tracery were becoming unstable and required remediation.
Subteno was engaged to provide design solutions for stabilising the stonework.
Our approach involved carefully jacking the stonework back into alignment, using slate to maintain joints, and employing discrete stainless steel staples to prevent future movement. Additionally, lime mortar re-pointing was carried out to restore the integrity of the structure.
