Project Overview

Subteno designed and fully detailed a multi-use, flexible, modular, hang-off staircase and personnel gangway designed to span between the heavy-lift jack-up barge OBANA and offshore gas platforms, facilitating their decommissioning and removal.

Our scope encompassed detailed design including all joints and connections, supported by finite element method (FEM) analysis for several complex assemblies, along with the preparation of fabrication drawings.

The gangway structure connects via two pinned trunnion mounts on OBANA’s main deck and can be installed in multiple configurations, accommodating up to 10 m of vertical descent and a 25 m clear span over the sea.

This gangway provides safe access and egress for personnel, services and light equipment during the decommissioning of Southern North Sea (SNS) normally unmanned installation (NUI) gas platforms

Its adaptable design and modular efficiency, allows repeated installation across multiple offshore sites, promoting continuous reuse while maintaining high safety standards and reliable access for offshore workers.
