Project Overview
Our client aimed to construct a 2.9 million sq ft storage and distribution warehouse on a site with a significant 23m fall across its width.
Subteno developed a comprehensive levels and drainage strategy to create a level plateau, accommodating the building footprint, unloading bays, and a multistorey car park.
Key constraints included the presence of three large diameter gas mains with associated easements and legal agreements, as well as a disused mineshaft on site.
To achieve the required levels, a range of gravity and piled retaining solutions were proposed. Additionally, regulatory approvals were secured for the discharge of surface water into a culverted watercourse located off site.
